filling gearbox oil

Starts at the flywheel, ends at the hubs, any problems along them lines, ask your questions here.

what sort of spanner removes them bolts, is it a square headed thing like the drain plug?

I can't remember what it is on the 413/sammy gearbox, might be a 3/4" or 1/2" drive, might be a spanner?

either way I'm sure you'll have one :thumbup: and its quite easy to get too, you might need a small 1L bottle with the flexy end/nozzle thing to get the oil in there though if you havent got a pump.

on mine its a nut, drain and filler

on my old t/box it was 1/2" drive
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

i had 2 of them red bottles i took the gearlever off and put 2 litres into the gearbox. its not grinding so im assuming its ok. but my gearbox has always had this problem, shifting down from 2nd to 1st is very hard, sometimes 1st just isnt there.

i sometimes have same prob goin into 1st try double clutchin it

ahy hitting the clutch twice very hard seems to do it, but the trick seems to get it into second, out and back into second then a quick shove up into 1st.
After a warm up its normally ok, is this caused by something round the selector?

was there ever an automatic mated to the g13a engine, that must have been really slow.

No there wasnt, and you will have to double clutch to get it in, mine does it sometimes. Another trick i use with the tractors is make them work in the sticky gears. Big hill big weight, pleanty oh thomas!

what is the actual capacity of the gearbox, was 2 litres enough?
