When I sprayed my truck, I used a layer of red oxide, that was just put on after it was blaster, then a layer of isolayter, that is key if you want the paint to stick and if your terrible at painting like me !!!!

Then I used three coats of mercades signal two pack MIPA red,

Two pack is the best paint as it goes so hard !!

The first time I sprayed mine I used synthetic paint and it went horribly wrong !!

 Don't say that mike I'm using synthetic for mine again! It worked fine the first time round so hopefully it will again! :S I've ordered mine in a kit though so all the thinners and primer are 100% compatible (I hope ) It's quite strange that yours reacted so badly with synthetic there isn't many types of paint it will react with as a top coat :er: however it will react really bad if you use a cellulose based paint on top of synthetic

only reason I use synthetic is that it's nice and easy to touch up.

I haven't yet decided whether or not to spray this time or roller mine again?

Either way my paint has arrived now :guns:

I use rustoleum, Just finished painting my camper in in with a roller and with a bit of finishing most people don't believe its not sprayed...

One tin at £25 will do the whole truck and no need to prime. Only thing is it takes a few days to fully harden. I put it on with a B&Q gloss roller.

You want combicolor metal paint. - i buy it from here.. rustoleum.co.uk
