When I snapped my cherry bomb in half, I bent an existing bit of pipe with an SJ exhaust flange round 90*... then I just bolted it onto the middle section, and it chucks the gas out between the wheel and the wheelarch.

Its well out of the way, but really loud, and wouldn't pass an MOT

Trust me a cherry bomb on its own will drive you mad after a while, I had a mk2 golf gti front box (pretty much a cherry bomb) and a cherry bomb, it was loud but not too loud and sounded nice. But when I broke the cherry bomb off and had to drive back from Normandy in France I really wanted some ear plugs, the missus and I had to shout to hear each other

Now I'm pretty much going to use a modified full mk2 golf gti exhaust with 3 silencers as loud exhausts just piss you off after a while.

That's why you need the exhaust to be loud only when you floor it ;)

That's why I kept my centre box in, because it keeps it below ridiculous levels while you're under 1/2 throttle

I like a little bit of volume when you floor it but not too much, otherwise when you are driving on motorways / fast A roads it is too loud, I just fitted a standard exhaust to the golf gti and its spot on, has a nice throaty sound when you boot it but isn't too loud when cruising at 70. A nice sounding exhaust is a lot better than a loud one.

See, I like to be able to set car alarms off when I drive past them ;)
