You do realised you are posting on a forum where the majority of owners drive SJ's?

Personally My favourite is an SJ (as thats what I joined for) I like my SJ because it has bags of character & is relatively simple to fix & seems rugged. What I don't like about it is its speed (or lack of) its fuel consumption & comfort (for any distance) And I really dislike how much theives like them

Vitara - I don't have an experience really but IMO they don't look as nice as an SJ and they arent as rugged as an SJ but as a positive they cope on motorways much better, they are more comfortable, they get better fuel consumption with more power

Jimnys - I sat in one ages ago I found the interior quite claustrophobic, aparantly they are relativly good off road but not as rugged as an SJ, They don't look as good as an SJ as they are so 'bubbly' but I think they look better than a vit, they don't get stolen as much as sj's and they have more power & better economy than an SJ, they also cost more than sj's!

overall I'd choose an SJ

SJ every time great off road nasty on but who cares, to quote hugh42 old signature more looks than a ferrari. as said easy to work on, and a great :hahaha:

Jimny isnt too bad off road but i can get places my mates Jim cant. they look good when they have been modded. more comfort with coils

Vitara dont really know havent had 1

People keep mentioning the fact that SJs are easier to work on... i dont think thats the case.

I would have thought the majority of time working on an SJ would include drilling out siezed bolts, re tapping threads, finding broken wires and brackets etc. In my experience this is the most fustrating part. Not to mention dodgy previous repairs and modifications you might find. For that reason i would suggest that Jimnys are the easier car to work on.

I love SJs so much and will endeavour to always own one.
Hopefully always my current one! :D

I think SJs are the easiest to work on, although the principles are the same for all of them really!
I love SJs because they are so accessible underneath, especially if you have some suspension lift!
If I drive the front of mine onto ramps, scott can easily lift a gearbox and fully extend his arms :P

He's got long arms haha ;)

As said before, Vitaras are a much more road going 4x4. Thats the reasoning behind the independent front suspension. I much prefer working on a live axle rather than IFS, mainly because of the CV joint nicely protected inside instead of in the mud...
I'm not overly keen on looks of the SWB vitaras, but I quite fancy a LWB diesel one, then I can have 4 doors!

Jimnys are my second favourite, but all the components are just smaller and lighter, I cant see it being super tough. They are quite simple like SJs, but there is a lot more electrickery!

I love LJs so much and really want one, I love the retro look so much!
I want a 3 cylinder engine as well ;)

Thats just why I love suzukis in general, what other 4x4s are there where you can hold the gearbox in place with one hand and put the bolts in with the other

My mate is about the same weight and struggles to get into my SJ!!! lol

It was made much easier after shortening the drivers side engine mount.
Now I don't have to punch him in the leg before I go into 1st :)
