pfft you can get teh fans cheaper then that on ebay im going to be running two 8inch fans on mine as thevitara rad is 20inches wide but i think on sj you cant get away with anything bigger then 12inches

also i used a ali housing of ebay about 35 quid it was 25mm so i had to crush it really tight with some jubilee clips otherwise the water would piss out tbh fella i would get a metal housing rather then plasticits better in the long run :guns:

eventually i will be running these fans ;)

Those two are what I am using on mine, except I have the 14" version of that fan... its the best fitting fan ever, literally covers the entire radiator!

would a 14" fit a 410 rad though?
and i searched fan switch lol and one came up for a sj so i was lucky haha

will i gain much power doing this fan conversion?

ahhh i forgot its a 410 rad as they are definitely a bit smaller
I dunno if power gain will be that noticeable... maybe 1hp if you're lucky!

I just prefer the peace of mind of having a well overpowered fan instead of the just-about-good-enough standard one!

If your planning on going offroading with it , it may be worth considering wiring an off switch for the fan. Just to stop it showering the engine bay in deeper water. However I would wire a light on the dash to warn you it's off. Something like this--

Not one of my best diagrams

thanks for that darrell, i wont be doing any deep water offroading, just a bit of greenlaning maybe..

but i like the idea, i might do it so i know when the fan is on and working, without the switch...
