I think a lot of the time flux and 2gether mainly only insure 4x4s as secondary vehicles for over 25s with limited mileage insurance. However I did originally have my SJ insured though 2gether when I was 21

How much was your 1st years insurance scottie. We're both 27, unless you lied about your age to join. Lol

My first car was a volvo 480 1.7i. 110bhp, powerflow exhaust did 130mph. 1st year was 550.

Now im 27, 8 years no claims. And my Zuk is still £280. 09' seat exeo is £450 fully comp.

My insurance went mental inbetween but thats cos' i bought some mental cars.

I still don't get this whole £2500 first year insurance. Have new drivers become such a liability? If i see Ed comin' do i ram him and say he hit me?

C'mon insurance people wake up. Still, atleast now lasses have to pay their fair share too! Sorry girls.

Jeeez I can't remember I think the sj was around 8-900 when I first put it on the road, was actually my first car i had after passing my test and wasn't standard, I was too busy riding my BMX to be bothered about passing my test when I was 17  I learnt to drive and had a 1.3 mk3 escort van when I was 17 though and I think the insurance was about £600-700 on a provisional license.

Insurance is stupid for new drivers, however I think it's also caused this whole stupid 'slamming' craze, they can't afford to drive cars that are fun and reasonably quick so they get a slow car and then to try and make it look 'cool' end up slamming it so much it's unsafe! One of the younger bmxers I know has a polo where the subframe is actually 1" off the floor and he's had to remove the arb because of it and he still wants it lower :er: that's not so bad but the best bit is one of his fucking brain dead idiot mates has actually removed the springs on his yaris completely! I made my opinion very clear about that :argh: I'd rather them be able to drive fast cars and learn a lesson by crashing than bodge something that ends up lethal at anything above 20mph.

My Dad had loads of bonkers cars when he was young. These days insurers would have a fit over them. Stuff like a Metro Turbo, Renault 5 Turbo etc. lots of turbo hatches.

well im learning to drive a the moment and im looking for insurance quotes... im not even bothering getting my current sj insured as its been modified too much acording the inurance companies , however if i get a bog standard sj my insurance for the year is £6000, and if i tell them i have got a rhinoray/ bull bar bumpers on it it goes up an extra £2000 to £8000. And they wonder why young drivers go around with no insurance

edit plus that was on limited milage

I swear it would be cheaper to insure if you had guns on it.
