How easy would it be to take a carry body and stick it on a sj chassis?

Anything with an 80ish" wheelbase can be made to fit. I really don't think someone who's 6ft could get a comfortable nights sleep in a carry, they are tiny inside

But a van on an SJ chassis is gonna be pretty damn top heavy

I'd just stick with a LWB or a Zuk and a tent.

Tbh whatever you put on an SJ chassis is going to be short. I love my sj but if I wanted to sleep in a vehicle it wouldn't be my choice, I'd probably choose a landrover (I'm not ashamed to admit that I've always had a thing for series 2 ambulances) a Mercedes g wagon, a Toyota land Cruiser or an old shape delica! I might even be tempted with a vw syncro

If i was doing expedition type stuff has to be a landrover 101 Luke.

I've always wanted one since i saw one at weardale off road.

Might be my next project if i can't find a LWB or a Soft top super cheap.

I love heavy stuff, I'd like a 101, a Bedford mj, an AEC matador and I like Russian stuff too, Zil 131, gaz 66 Tatra 805 - its such a shame I live in a housing estate with little available parking

Theres a place on the A38 called Leavesley International. Used to have loads of Zil, Tatras and Kamaz trucks in. Place is full of Hagglunds now.

Matadors are getting old now. Real old. Can't beat the Mighty Antar though or a Super Rotinoff. Bedford MJ, provides sterling service to the military but not my thing.

101s just tick loadsa boxes. V8, loadsa room, can get ambulances, GS and the rare vampire hard body. As its landrover spares are still plentiful.

101 forward control, love them. There is one local to me that never sees mud, offered the chap to go out with us on some lanes and he just said no.
All it is used for is once a month he uses it as a youth club as its got a ps2 and a tv in it :screwy:
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

Hmmm. How can you use it as a youth club? Bit limited on space for that. And a PS2 and tv in a 101? Kinda pointless.
