Re: Question *REV counter*

I have a nasty feeling it my not work being injection. The wire from the coil goes to an igniter unit and noise suppressor / then ECU and rev counter. I have no idea if it would work with the SJ rev counter. Rhinoman on Difflock would be the guy to know, we will have to send him this way one day, or is he a member on here as well :er:

Looks to me like the rev counter signal wire breaks off before going to the ignitor. The noise suppressor branches off before the suppressor and then goes straight to the dash (br)

This is the US tbi (spi) wiring diagram and this bit should be the same on UK models

Edit Darrels diagram didn't show when I first read his post, they look pretty much the same and it doesn't actually go through the ignitor, they both just use the same feed so should be ok as long as long as the noise suppressor is wired in first.

Where'd your reply go Darrel

Wonder which ones right :er:
They sort of do but are drawn differently and use different ignitors (i think) as in my edit to my last post, the feed for the rev counter just branches off the coil negative, it doesn't go through the ignitor, they just both use the same feed.

I could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me??

Yes sorry Scott. I added the pic and reworded a little, as you say it goes to ignitor and noise suppressor. Not through as I first said.

I ditched that other post quick because they are almost the same, apart from a wire colour.
How did you manage to see it :D . It can't have been there for more than 20 seconds

 I must've quoted it pretty much just after you posted it. I'm quick me

good to have a second opinion  I think it should be fine  I know the mpfi system is a bit more complicated to wire up the rev counter, never really worked on the ignition system of an SPI so it was a bit of educated guess work

Looks like the noise suppressor will be needed, just noticed it's wired in parallel to the ignitor.

The black w/green tracer wire is also shared between the ignitor and suppressor.
