Re: my vitara
its a nissan navara one that a friend of mine bought then left in my garage for months before just giving it to me
i didn't want it sitting over the arch but we decided that a compromise had to be made somewhere so i went for fitting well against the top that is more visible.
either way its a huge improvement on what was there even if i now have two big holes in the wing

Re: my vitara
nope
we have picked up a couple of bits on it and done some welding but not enough for another update yet.

Re: my vitara
after months of making noise and putting off the work my thrust bearing finally gave up
so me and a friend of mine ripped the gearbox out to put a full clutch in.
ordered one from unipart online and it arrived the next day.tried to put it in and found it was too small.
after a couple of phone calls we arranged a straight swap for a clutch that would fit and should have been twice the price . collected it the next day from a fairly local unipart store and got it in.
pics of the old parts
total cost was £56.16 for the clutch and £20 for some fresh gearbox and transfer box oil.

Re: my vitara
been a bit busy lately so i haven't had chance to do much but i did manage to pick up a winch for the vitara.
its a superwinch lp8500 which was damaged when i bought it,i had to make an end plate for the motor and get the motor cleaned out and working correctly.
i know its not a high quality winch but for the occasional use it will receive its more than good enough, and was a bargain at £11
its wired through an isolator switch located next to the battery so its not connected constantly.
and i still have a couple of end plates to make for the mount and finish off the welding on the front plate and get some bigger bolts for the fairlead.
also picked up a cheap 48" farm jack aswell which is now mounted on the back of the cab.

Re: my vitara
the guy i got it off said it was a superwinch lp8500 and the wiring for it is the same as a superwinch lp8500 so i just assumed it was, doesnt have any name on it so i can only go on what the seller said.
it was £11 because of the damage, ive cleaned it out, greased the gearbox up and fabricated a new end plate for it to get it working again.
this is as it was when i got it
