Is it the notch in the pulley itself that is worn? if so I should have a spare pulley lying around that I wont want much for  I probably have some spare camshafts as well

Yea its the pulley itself, i know this isnt an SJ pulley but that slot on mine has worn to at least twice the width (images attached). If you have one kicking about and wanna throw a price my way that would be grand!

You edited from camshaft pulley to driveshaft?

Don't understand? Do you mean the Crankshaft. In which case you are talking about the little toothed cog that is held to the crank with a 17mm headed bolt that needs Chuck Norris to remove it?

I'd be impressed of someone managed to enlarge the key way in a 410 crank pulley they are about 40mm thick

My apologies, my knowledge of engines, as you can most likely tell, is somewhat limited. The timing belt goes round the camshaft, goes down passed that tensioner, then goes round the crankshaft at the bottom yes? Then its the pulley on the crankshaft that is worn, and im just as curious as to how someone did that too it, but they have, and its knackered.

Yes cam pulley is the top one, camshaft is in the head. crankshaft is at the bottom in the block. I have spare crank pulleys as well so that isn't an issue, will dig it out tomorrow.
