Right here we go

My cousin picked her up last night with tradeplates so I jumped in the passenger seat got half way and be cousin said it was feeling slow so we got it to my cousins house and seen that the drivers side rear drum was smoking really bad the blue heat resistance paint was all gone so we jacked it up took the wheel off and then got the drum off and the cylinder was seized so we tried un seizing it but it was fucked so we loosened the tensioner and going to pick it up Wednesday night with a trailer
Got to get new shoes new cylinders and maby while I'm at it give it a set of new front discs as the pads are like new

Ok one reason wheel nuts come off. Not properly tight. All hub and wheel nuts should be tightened in the correct order (usually opposites) to seat the drum and wheel correctly. Then torqued to correct tightness.

Running on 3 drum nuts only will have allowed the drum to move and vibrate on the 4th stud causing the others to come loose.

It is VITALLY important that ALL studs and nuts are checked for wear caused by wheel and hub vibrations. This goes for the drum stud holes and wheel stud holes too. Even after a short distance the vibrations can wear the studs and elongate the holes.

OVERTIGHTENING is just as serious! This causes tensile stress in the stud and causes them to shear!

Hope you get it all sorted, sounds like it was a pretty dramatic moment.

Just add to that. I'm not into removing wheels unless required but as you are running the bolt on spacers with a second set of nuts for the wheels i advise periodically removing the wheels to ensure the spacers are correctly torqued.

That sounds like it all went a bit wrong  Don't do the brake drum nuts up with a long bar, the threads on nuts themselves strips quite easily so that's probably what happened if they were over tightened.

I would recommend buying some new nuts from Muddyzook for the drums for both sides.
