Re: Green lane nail traps....
We've come across lengths of 4x2 with nails along it down my way in hertfordshire. When we used to do the lanes on enduro bikes years ago someone was badly hurt whe they was garrotted by a wire bond that was stretched across the lane. I've also been threated to be shot with a shot gun whiles entering a byway that was near a farm over Braintree way. It happens.

Re: Green lane nail traps....
Sometimes I cannot believe the crass stupidity of some people. What if a kid fell onto one of those things? And a wire across a lane? Unfucking real.
If it ticks over...leave it

Re: Green lane nail traps....
It's the culture we live in! I spent many years on bikes. Two wheels and an engine I was in my element. I've been all over the country green laning on bikes. Wales as some of you know has some extreme lanes and I've been and done all of em on many occasions, sometimes on a normal run of the mill enduro bike with not noisy at all and sometimes on a full power crf 450 with extremely loud exhaust, whenever you come across dog walkers, ramblers or horse riders you get nothing but a smile. Around here in herts/ essex you get nothing but dirty looks. I always try and be as inconspicuous as poss by pulling over and killing the engine but it just seems like around hear you don't belong. Some of you may know the famous violets lane, witch is just down the road from me. This lane has caused no end of trouble over the years with locals complaining of off roaders driving or riding through there village claiming we drive to fast or have noisy exhaust. But there fine about strategically placing broken glass across the lane or stretching wire across it or any other kind of obstacle they can find. I've had 5 punctures down there in the last 2 years. I just make sure when I come out the end of the lane I pull up right outside the houses and drip mud n shit all over the road while I put my spare on.
Seriously go on YouTube and type in violets lane green laning and look at some of the comments the locals have left on the vids......some of them get right nasty.

Re: Green lane nail traps....
Theres 2 lanes Ive found in west sussex so far!
One runs alongside a road anyway so its fairly pointless, apart from the funny looks you get driving past!
The other one has been trashed so badly by the landy crew that you can barely get down it any more!
