Strangely
The ones that I have bought from odd places have been decent
One from my local scrappy
One pulled from a front garden
One thats really rough looking but is pretty much solid
But the ones I bought that are sold as being in good condition have
Been rubbish.

I was very lucky with mine as it was fairly decent when I bought it!
(look at it now!!! haha)
Only cost £700 with a full mot and tax but that was 6.5 years ago...
My first one cost £700 with a full mot and a free 410 (rotten) that came with it!

I hunted high and low to find one, that was 5-6 years ago...
When i sold it nearly 2 years ago it fetched a very good price... but it was straight. solid and honest.
Carnt help but think that it would have made more bog standard... but it was built for purpose.
Sadly i think the only true way to find a good sj is to buy one that has never been modified... as said above anyone can bolt on parts and pigeon shit some weld so that it looks good... few weeks later the mods have failed, you have a bust up truck, an accident, hit something or someone (god forbid) and probably void your insurance.
It took me 3 weeks and loads of viewings to find a good jimny, and they are only 10 years old not 20-25.
I know of a very straight, very tidy black sj. It hasnt been on the road for 2 maybe 3 years and is just used to potter around the field in by a friend of mines little brother, fully kitted out, i think it went to one p&p day and was steamed cleaned and parked back in the shed. I shall ask about it.
