actually I think im with Scott on this one. old hilux would be sweet as they are bullet proof!
I drove a lifted D90 the other weekend and I really didn't enjoy it much. dont get me wrong, it was capable enough but it just felt like a heavy beast of burden.
something small enough to skip over stuff but capable enough to get through the rough would be ideal.

A 1960's Landcruiser. Drove one in Florida...no doors no roof no windscreen...bugs in my eyes and I didn't care it was a hoot.

Land Rover Defender - 110 pick up - had one worse than a tractor - crap
Range Rover - Classic 3.9 - had one comfy but always broken - crap
Land Cruiser 95 Colorado - 3.0TD - capable reliable well built - own it now love it
Suzuki Samurai - cheap never breaks - never laughed so much in any car - own it now soon to be laughing again
