Im getting there tho. Phoned up to see what joys i had at work for tomorrow and got told if i wanted i could have another day off so i'll be in the garage again tomorrow once i've taken the wife to work.

I've been fighting with a blowing exhaust joint since i painted it, which was a pointless time wasting exercise as it flaked off. Halfords vht, might as well of used emulsion!

Anyway i've put on lashing of exhaust gunk and am just waiting for it to go off. Fingers crossed.

Parts of the underside were a bit rusty of various repairs and mods so i've had the wire brush out and given it all a good clean up followed by liberal coatings of underseal.

Upon inspection nothing seems to have detriorated since it's last MOT. So hopefully when the time comes it will just be a formality.

i put some (well....nearly a whole tin) gungum on the wifes exhaust the day before its mot.....the day after the mot the patch up blew off! but hey....it passed!

Looking for help here.

My NSF brake keeps seizing up. I stripped and rebuilt the calipers but didnt put new seals in as they arent leaking but every few months this caliper is sticking.

When i take it off the slides are free and the piston moves in and out fairly easily. But in the short 12mile drive home you could fry bacon on the wheel.

Your thoughts plz

I had the same problem on mine. It would stick on every time i went on a duel carridge way or moterway, to the point where smoke would be comming from the wheel. I cleaned out the caliper a number of times and copper greased the piston but it didn't help. Then the last time i pumped the piston right out and blasted it with wd40, and it hasn't happened since.

Well. Brakes have been well n truly serviced again. Calipers stripped. Cleaned. Lubed. Rear brakes all serviced n freed. Handbrake adjusted.

Its still w*nk, i have no idea how any sj passes mot with a totally u/s handbrake.

I managed to find a new brand of vht paint and discovered red has the highest temp. So we now have a red silencer. Also bought some nice black hammerite n gave the rear bumper n fuel tank a quick splash.

Looks a bit tidier. I was a bit dubious about the red but actually really like.
