So after today's test drive, iv realised the speedo is quite away out so may need to swap the vitara speedo head for a Japanese sj head. The speedo does read but it's abit slower than actual. Going to do some research and see if it matters or not

Looking and sounding lovely. Is it the calibration between that and the large tires to?

Me and a few of my mates are heading to drumclog on the 18th if you fancy it?

You can calibrate the speedos quite easily if I remember correctly. I’ll try to find the thread with it in.

How do you like the 16v vs the old 8v?

Thanks rankine, as much as id like to I don't think I'll get chsnce, though the green one is raring to get out!

I haven't driven it enough to get a proper feel scottie, iv only driven round the block. I can say though it feels alot more responsive and torquey.
Hopefully the speedo will recalibrate quite easy.

I think the next thing to do would be jimny 4.3 diffs and a rocklobster to make better use of the 16v

Whilst it's still in garage iv pulled rear bumper off to give it a clean up. Getting a right overhaul is old girl, suppose it's only fair, been on road 4 years now!

It was in the how to section, pictures aren’t the best but the little lever is quite obvious once you have it apart. It is going to be a bit of trial and error to get it right though.
It might be slightly different on the jap/vit style speedo but I do recall seeing a little calibration lever

Definitely keeping me busy! I'm hoping I'm back home at a decent time Friday and can refit rear bumper and lights and then mot Saturday

I'll pull it apart this weekend and give that a try scottie thanks for that. It could well be iv messed it up while I had it in bits resetting mileage.
