Next decision is what type of hinge and where it'll be located. I'm thinking hinged on drivers side, so that access is from passenger side. I think a simple gate type hinge with an R clip will do nicely. That way its a quick job to get the lid off for using the trailer for tip runs etc.

I also have an idea about adding mounting points for a tarp on the opening side of the lid, so that when its open I can attach the tarp to have a covered area to cook under.

Decided to go for bolt on hinges.

Will make up the box section frame for the lid and see how these offer up.
