That shows how late it was actually getting a bit better.
Loved it! Dunno why I've never headed onto the plain much before. Lazyness I suppose.

well we'll have to head out for a day again next month, there's plenty for us to explore!
I'll also have to take you out down wayfarers ridgeway out towards Newbury as well, that's a good lane.

Yeah spotted that whilst out on a job the other day where it crosses the road near Oxenwood then went back to the works and found a OS map in a drawer which is now in my lounge.
Was gunna suggest we have a look at that. Looks like about 16km of un-interrupted BOAT (the bits I've seen are rutted soil) and a few other little bits to explore off it.
Loads of fords out that way to play in too.

Yeah I've done the wayfarer loads of times, it's a good route, not that challenging but there's loads of good views! I've got a route that I used to take to get to it and you're pretty much on byways for the whole day with only a little bit of road mixed in.

looked at driving from Barbury Castle to Aldermaston offroad, Camping, Go to 4x4WAC the next day then drive back on road.
Think it was part of the route. surprising how far you can go that way without using more than a B road.
