don't want to thread hi-jack but i imported a "trail tough YJ conversion kit" from http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com and although my phone line to them was terrible, and i had to resort to using email to specify what i wanted etc. As they had to give me international shipping quotes. I was very happy with the service provided and everything was here within 3 weeks from 1st point of contact.

cost me about £500 for parts shipping then import tax (i think tax was £120 in total for all 3 packages)when it landed in uk
if in doubt, FLAT OUT!

mans tool kit > duct tape, wd40 and a bfh is all you ever need

I was undecided on whether to get the lowrange or the rockyroad kit. In the end i went for the rockyroad one, as i was a bit unsure about having missing links on it with the amount of road miles i do.
I use my SJ as my work van and do at least 100miles a week fully loaded with tools. It is definitely more comfortable with the YJ's on, but it still a SJ on leaf springs, so if you hit a pot hole your going to know about it :lol: .
There isn't much of curve in the springs and although i think they have given me around 2" of lift i think most of that is from the longer shackles and the new spring mounts being slightly lower.
I got the springs off ebay. The guy i bought them off had bought them new and had only had them on his anus for about a year so they were in great condition. I think i paid around £300 for them.
The kit was $449 (about £280) and the postage was $215 (about £135).
I also got a quote for the Extreme OME kit but they wanted $650 just for the postage :shock: .
I read alot of horror stories about Rockyroad before i ordered from them. Alot of people saying they had very poor customer service, very long delivery times, parts missing and so on. I had no problems with them at all. They replied to all my emails within 24 hours and the kit was delivered within 2 weeks. So maybe they have improved there service or maybe i was just lucky. Theres always going to be a risk when ordering from abroad.

Oh and also i think the import tax was something like £90 can't quite remember.

From what I've read the TT kit is better than the rockyroad, however it does stretch your wheel base a bit more but if you live in the US it is the kit that you would get recommended to buy.

That said I do like the look of the rockyroad kit, just hope you get service like ferris did!

As for the ride and flex yes YJs really are as good as they are made out to be :mrgreen: best mod I ever did to my SJ! As ferris says though its still a leaf spring vehicle just softer. Think most kits give around 1.5-2" lift if ran spua.

No luckily it wasn't that bad Dan. I didn't go to A&E till 4oclock the next morning as i couldn't sleep. But she couldn't find anything in there so it must have worked its way out by then. Just had a nice big scratch top to bottom.

Bit pricey for now. Will put that on the back burner for a bit. I'll get 33s on as is with the lift springs and body mods i've done.

Spending quite a lot already. Id rather run 33s on it how it is than my 31s on YJs. And 33s on rims are cheaper too.

I'll get my 1.6 in and rocklobster done for now. Then probs start looking for tyres in april.

as dan said when i fit it i'l let you know :lol:
