Yeah I think you right Rick patience and a more realistic budget is the way forward for the car that I want. Ideally I want one that has already had a lift and wheels and tyres fitted. I'd feel guilty if I bought a mint car and trashed it offroad! Lol

I'm starting to really like gumtree it's so much easier then eBay, no fees and no 10% cut of the final sale price!

Hope you find a decent Vit waiting for you in Brighton, mate. If not - ebay has a rep for being a really really crap place to sell vehicles - people bidding on them, then not turning up or even communicating, let alone paying - so wait for the ebay listing to end, and then send a message to the seller saying that if he has trouble with the buyer, you might be able to pull £650 out of a hat for him.
What's the worst that could happen?
You must have crystal balls Anton cause I sent the dude a message on Saturday say congrats on the sale and if it fell through I asked if I could have first refusal. Then yesterday I received a message from the guy saying that it looks like the sale is falling through and if I was still interested then I could have first refusal :-) fingers crossed

Naah, it's just that I've never seen a vehicle sell on ebay without the buyer playing silly buggers, or simply not turning up at all.
Hope you get a result!

What about when you win the bid turn up with the cash and then the seller wants more?

Well it's all worked out rather well, have worked out a deal and am picking up the vitara tomorrow evening and relieving myself of £700 for it. Cheers for all the advice it's all been invaluable and I'll sort out a build thread, for more advice and brain picking I'm sure!
