See if you can wiggle the gearbox input shaft... if you can, its goosed!

When there is enough room to look straight at the clutch I don't bother with the tool, just make sure its all lined up round the edges and in the middle

Yep mine clutch looks like the old one i didnt get all that other stuff come out of it doh new clutchshould be here today so will be giving it ago

Cant alligne clutch by eye any tips as ive lifted the gearbo up twice now and still no luck :(

When bolting the clutch onto the flywheel I look around the edge of the clutch and flywheel.
They should be exactly the same size, so as long as they are lined up all the way around the edge it should be OK
You can also see when it's lined up by looking into the hole in the center.

Just remember that sometimes the gearbox splines don't match up exactly with the splines in the clutch plate. It can sometimes help putting the prop in the back of the gearbox and turning it a little bit

Ok all has gine good today got new clutch in and everything back together but now cant get it to start i did take the top off my distrubutor would this be the problem the anus tries to start

So the starter motor turns round but it doesnt fire up?

The cap does physically fit on the wrong was around, so its worth checking that. If its a brown dizzy cap there should be an arrow on it (arrow goes at the top)

Mine isnt the brown one and yes the starter motor turns and theres spark from soark plugs but just not firing up

Well basically, the lead that comes from cylinder 1 (front of the engine) should be at the top
