your local motor factors should be able to get you one.

410 coils have a ballast resistor different primary and secondary resistances to Sammy coils. A 1.6 8V vitara coil is the same as a sammy coil

Not sure they're usually this expensive though

That's the figure my mum came back with from her work, which are a motor factors. I thought I'd shop around a little first lol.

Seems they are the same as Suzuki alto aswell as vitaras too according to that listing. Could try a used one first for a few quid!

Right!....Ive replaced the coil with a new one, no different :( Ive got some new leads and plugs to put in but just need to collect them first.

Also I noticed if I pull the choke right out, it runs better and doesnt drop down and stall but I can still here popping and a misfire from the exhaust and as soon as I push the choke in, splutter splutter almost dies a few times until it stalls completely.

Ive inspected the dizzy cap and arm and they look pretty much new, theres little to no wear on the contacts at all.

I had a thought that maybe the fuel had got some water in somehow, maybe from the breather as it was hanging low and covered in mud and blocked after, so could have sucked some in whilst we were ploughing through the pond?

Im trying to distinguish whether its ignition related or fuel related! Any more thoughts?

Ok, fitted new plugs and leads, still the same :(

Also took off fuel-in line and put into new can of petrol, after running the carb out completely so no old fuel in......still the same!!!

It sounds a bit like the carb (weber) is "gargling" a bit unevenly, its hard to explain. Ill try and get a video up on youtube.

I cant think what else to try, short of taking the carb off and cleaning out. It must be something that has been affected by dirt/water considering the circumstances it happened in, rather than a timing issue etc

Now Im no carb expert but if I look down the primary venturi on the carb, at idle its almost dribbling the fuel in and the little jet on the side of the wall does nothing, until its about to stall then it squirts a little and the engine roars up.

Is this normal? All this fuel dribbling in and onto the throttle plate. Its coming from the small "tube" that goes from one side to the other

Heres a video of it starting up, running ok for a few seconds then spluttering!
Also when I hold the throttle steady you can hear it misfire/spluttering until I let go and it dies.

Answers on a postcard please :)

I know nothing about the webber carb but that looks like a fair bit of fuel to me!

I had a similar problem with my SU with the choke assembly letting huge ammounts of fuel in even with the choke off.

Thats what I thought, I thought even carbs were a bit more "precise" than that, it seems to be dropping it in rather than squirting. The thing is it will rev up fine if I stab the the throttle etc, it just wont idle or hold a smooth steady amount of revs at say 1/4 throttle.

Also it has been converted to manual choke not auto. But if the choke plates are in the off position then I assume the choke is off? Or can something else get stuck on?
