There is a hose coming of the rocker cover that goes straight to the airbox. I will have a look tomoro is I can locate the valve, and maybe plumb it back in the way it is supposed to be. I'll also try to get some pictures

I have been working on making an adapter plate to put my su carb on my engine, as it had a difference in the angle. this pic shows the angle and position of the manifold drawn in felt pen, and the gasket for the carb laying on top of it in the desired position

as you can see, the boltholes for my carb overlap onto this isolation block, that will be positioned onto the manifold

so I was just wondering if it is okay to cut a little into this isolation block to be able to put the bolt holes in, and obviously nut cut away too much. What are your thoughts?

Cant see it causing a problem.

Or you could use counter sunk allen headed screws to they are recessed out of the way of the plate. Or just weld some little studs into it that poke out for the carb to slot onto so theres no heads at all.

 I should have thought of that myself. off course dan, why didn't I think of that?
I abviously can't weld the studs on the side the carb is going to go, as this will create problems, as it probably won't seal. I'll drill holes through the plate, cut the heads of the bolts, weld them on the manifold side of the adapter plate, ie the other side the carb is going. Then I'll just grind the welds back flat, and ta da, I should have some studs on the plate, Might try that tonight.
I don't think counterhead bolts will work very well on 3mm plate? Won't they still be too tall?
