Finally updated my CB antenna location.

Was nice and protected mounted between the spare and the tailgate on the spare wheel carrier but performance was poor due to the wheel interfering so I made up a little bracket to move it away from the wheel.

Bit of a pain as I had to deal all the rivets out of the rear door card to attach a support bracket inside the tailgate and get the cable through and the cable was a real fight to get down the flexy conduit between the body and the tailgate.

Took advantage of having the card off to fix the tailgate lock mechanism and add a hole so I can open it if it manages to lock itself again.

Yes I know she really deserves a good wash.

Looks smart, i've mounted mine in a similar location, but using a side mount.

Only downside for me, is that it keeps hitting the roof support hoop if it catches, oh and multistory carparks XD

I hope you're going to clean it soon?

I always think layers of different coloured mud tells a good story, like hitting a very rich in iron glane after a very sandy/ yellowy (it's now a word) lane the night before creates a cool two tone effect ;)

Bit of an update here for those that don't follow me on social media.

Had a bit of an "incident" in August.....

Drove it home after removing most of the bent stuff.

After a lot of jacking/hammering/bending/hammering it's now back in shape and watertight.

Going to keep the doors and roll hoop that colour and repair the screen surround and paint it black to match unless I come across a really good black surround before I get round to it. The roll hoop to screen links have since been dressed up and painted black.

Still got some other dents to fettle a little and some missing paint to tough up but she's solid, watertight, and driveable again.

Also replaced exhaust mainfold with a janspeed. Freed up some power but now quite loud as the rest of the system is rather minimal....

:hahaha:
