Just found out I have a cracked fecking block leaking coolant and oil is going somewhere too!

I have time to sort it if I can source a block/complete engine by tomorrow eve.

Or do I just dose it up on various engine fluid sealing drugs, go easy on her, and hope for the best?

The plan.

Get some of this from my mates work and try seal the crack tomorrow. http://www.steelseal.co.uk/

Also get full gasket kit and all fluids as backup.

They have sold a few hundred and only had 2 come back and many many reports of success.

Go try it and if it works adjust throttle stop to limit it to 3500 rpm.

If it fails whip out engine thursday eve.

Scottie comes round early friday morning with a block and we build it back up as quick as we can between us.

steel seal is pretty good stuff as it goes. We've not had any come backs from it at all. I prefer k seal personally but either is good. it is only a temporary measure though but hopefully it'll see you through. good luck dan!

Try kalimex k-seal ive used it with brilliant results as a temporary measure on my 1.3 cracked block .The block cracked just under the inlet manifold and was 30mm long and it sealed it no problem. In fact it was so temporary it lasted for a year till I changed the engine.

Either way hope all goes well

I'm well aware its rather temporary.

I would rather go with my tried and tested engine with a sealed leak than a unknown condition one though.
