Im impressed! Yeah its a spanish one but how did you tell the difference? other than knowing the chasis number?
and yup rear light is in 3 bits, well more like 5 bits now. haha
Wheels and tyres werent cheap nearly £700 but well worth it in my eyes, didnt struggle for traction, and the tyres are almost silent on road.

spainish have a reverse light in both rear clusters and a seperate fog, whereas japs (mine) as a reverse on one side and fog on the other.

Are you struggling to find a replacement lense?

I didnt know they made hardtop sammies upto 95 tho, learn something new every day.

Lil_beastie you have it the wrong way around

Spanish trucks have a reverse light and a fog light... Japanese trucks have two reverse lights...
It's definitely got a new grille in it, but they are a piece of cake to put on.

O woops. I should of said it was Jap then, and been wrong!

I thought mine was jap too, and cos someone on difflock said they have round indector/light sticks.

Told the master cylinder seal man it was jap too (think its the same kit anyway).

Changed direction with the truck slightly, the planned 16v petrol engine has been binned in favour of a mildly tuned VW TDi engine conversion.
Have purchased the donor vehicle (96 Golf TDi) and a spare engine (Audi 80) the plan is to bin all of the SJ's crusty old wiring and use all of the golfs loom. indicators lights, switches, etc, etc.
Going to fabricate my own adaptor plates, engine mounts, and whatever else is needed first job was to whip the old engine out, only took about 30 mins once the front end was unbolted. will get some pictures up of the progress tomorrow.
