so it looks like for my 1300 ill need a Bdl needle but still unsure about spring? will it just be a bit of trial and error or has someone done same conversion and know more than what i do.
as for fuel mix i take it this will be the same have a play until its running right.

right ive got on to minisport website and i was looking at the hif44 needles and i cant find a bdl needle anywhere ive found a bdk if that's any good. ive got sorted with a new spring a stage one kit red spring

or make me an offer, i've got a basically new bdl needle and a red spring that was fitted to my old 1300 engine for a whole 10 miles before it went bang

Haven't got a spare hiff44 just a spare needle and spring.. Setting it up isnt hard it just takes a bit of time while you fiddle with it.

hi guys i have brought an su for my samurai i was told to get a bbz needle and yelow spring but reading this that is for the 1600 conversion what will it do/ not do for my lil 1300? also is it possible for some one to send me a link to fitting instructions as i couldnt see the pictures

Having the wrong needle and spring means that the piston in the carb won't rise at the correct rate for the engine and the wrong needle means that you'll get the wrong amount of fuel being fed into the engine.
Given the yellow and a BBZ needle are for a 1600, I'd say the piston won't rise fast enough, so you get extra fuel and the thinner needle will give you extra fuel too.
I'm sure someone else will have a link to a tutorial for changing the spring and needle.

thanks edweird i can do the sping and needle just not sure on what pipe work etc etc goes where
