It's not put you up a rank anyway
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: Red neck lift kit lads!
The SJ transmission will take a lot more power than you guys seem to think, there's loads of people around the world running various tuned, turbo'd and supercharged engines on the stock transmission.
I don't know what the issue is I run 33s and don't have any problems with my SJ being too tall to fit in places

I was thinking more the UJs and shafts might not be up to 150+bhp

Re: Red neck lift kit lads!
They easily are, the CVs are the main weak point but you'll be in 2wd on road anyway.Edweird wrote:I was thinking more the UJs and shafts might not be up to 150+bhp
The main reasons for UJ failures on SJs are that people lift them too much running the UJs at high angles and/or fuck up the UJ angles when they go spoa or do other suspension mods like lift shackles etc. and also axle wrap from old crap rear springs
I'm about to run just under 130bhp with 33" tyres on standard propshafts
Re: Red neck lift kit lads!
Low and not quite as wide would be a bit better, wouldn't mind loosing 3-4" in total width when I start trialling to help me squeeze through the gates but low with a flat belly is def better than loads of lift when it comes to stability.
