sorry I forgot to mention one thing.

there is a plate that covers the fuel filler pipe. its always bugged me as I could never get behind it properly to clean mud outta there etc etc. so I got shot of it and replaced it with something a bit more practical.

my mate paul being a cracking fabricator build this little gem for me. I cant find the pic of it now its been fully seam welded and painted etc but you get the idea.

this way I can remove it and clean behind it to stop the rust around the filler neck.

what do you guys think?

cheers jordi, its mainly down to paul as he's been welding for years now ive been seam sealing, cutting cleaning metal, painting etc etc so I cant take full credit. but im super stoked about it!

cant wait till the grand road and off road test!!!!!

Looking good dude :rockin:

And yes the roll hoop just bolts to the rear arches and to the top seat belt mount, that's just how the factory roll hoops fit. As said it might need some mods for a standard soft top SJ though as it used to be in my Sj and that was once a tin top.

thats cool mate. bolting to the arches sounds, well, sketchy in a roll situation. so I may leave it until I can figure a way to attach it to the chassis or whatever so its solid as hell.

either way tho ITS NEARLY ON THE ROAD!! :rockin:

I have a similar roll hoop. I am going to weld thick spreader plates into the arches to spread the load. With the VL the arches are considerably stronger anyway.

Good work. Keep up this pace and it will be done in no time

right lads, last arch done and dusted. just a small bit left to do in the back.

decided to experiment with a rocker cover. gonna see how the paint used on the bodywork holds up. I havent got high hopes as its not a high temp paint, but sometimes you just gotta try these things I guess.

only a couple pics tonight im afraid

You should have no probs painting the rocker box cover with normal paint, I've done all of mine with a rattle tin and some lacquer and they lasted for years!
