I hoping to be able to finish it off tomorrow, bar the hole, dont know where it will go untill i but the rope ect. will get some better pics if it's nice.
No it didn't have a carrier, I bought one for a fiver. Don't know where it's going to go yet. Will figure some thing out.
I only got the add a leaf because the front springs are practically flat. Will have to see how they go. I'm just to tight to buy new springs. Well not at the prices I've seen about.
I'm hoping the chassis won't take to long now, I can start assembling the bits back onto it, to make room in the garage to spray the body. Can't even swing a cat in there at the moment.

As standard SJ front springs are practically flat, they hardly have any curve at all!

If you watch the video on this thread they have a bit where they are looking under an sj on ramps, have a look at the leaf springs - that's a brand new SJ from the factory!

If ever you find your self with a camera in your hand, and the carrier in front of you, i would love to see what it looks like

I think it's just a normal sj tin top wheel carrier, I'll get a pick tho.
I see what you mean about the springs, I just assumed they where nackered.

Thanks Ian, you were right, it was just a standard tin top carrier
i just thought looking at the tabs and swing away numberplate on the back that it should have some sort of cage reminiscent of the peugeot stuff, however i can imagine these being like hens teeth in the uk

Hi,
little update, been hard at work on it today, bit of head scratching going on, my old man must have been bored so hes started stripping down my front axle, found every bearing nackered, plus the ball rubbers and seals are all split, and also the disks are different to each other, so a nice little expensive shopping spree is in order, but on the plus side, there are new callipers and pads.
