Post by The Bird Man » Sat Mar 15, 2014 3:18 pm

Alright folks, having a spot of bother. Regarding the choke cable, where can I get a new one ? Also the nob that you pull the choke out, how do I get it off ? Cheers :)

Thinking back to the "old days" with manual chokes. I recall the knob was part of the inner cable, so I don't believe they come off.

Can you make this fit? If not there seem to be a few on eBay.

Had a scan through Ebay at the universal ones, none of them have the little button at the end, Also looking at my old one it had a bolt and two nuts as part of the cable it self to hold back the choke some what and they clamp on to a metal bracket. I'm confused as I can't seem to find any choke cables like this one :S

Hopefully this pic will clarify what I'm after :D I rang up my local Suzuki dealership up this morning, just for a giggle, where I got through to the parts department, they quoted me 30 nicker for a choke cable all the way from Germany !! I was like, on your bike pal  There must be a cheaper alternative. :)

I bought mine from a local motor factors, about £6 and just fabbed it to make it fit, seems to be what most people do mate.

Right, been looking at how to fab one, I've come up with this. Don't see why this shouldn't work, it will be pretty much the same apart from the bend at the end where the adjuster is.

looks like it should work

Is it possible to use your old cable 90 degree bend and adjuster, or is it crimped on.
