hi yall , after my outing at the devils pit a couple of weekends ago ive developed a nasty noise from the rear which has turned out to be the half shaft bearings on the rear driver side .
i do not know enough about it to tackle it and wandered if i needed a new half shaft or can i get the bearings done.?
cheers

It's only around £30 for a bearing kit and doesn't take long.

If you are still on drum brakes, remember to fit the back plate BEFORE the new bearing :S

Surely no one has ever made such an elementary mistake!?

Yea remember that dude, it's a major ball ache trying to remove a new bearing with out a tool and not damage it!

best thing to do is take the shaft and new bearing to a workshop with a hydraulic press... will take about 2 minutes and save a lot of hassle!!!

Or 20 minutes in the oven at 180 degree C, a pair of welding gloves, and some swift movements. :D

I made a tool to put bearings on shafts it's a bit of tube a bit bigger than the size of the shaft and all I do is tap the tube down and the bearing down and I have used it twice and works alright
