Hi. I am a new member, who drives a Suzuki Vitara JLX sport and is in great need of "Help"
Fitted a new fuel tank a couple of months ago, and everything been running fine until a recently.
Now, while driving, the engine "CUTS OUT", if I pump the throttle it sometimes starts again or we kangaroo along for a bit then it runs again. Today while driving to work the engine cut out and would not start again for about 10 mins., . managed to get back home and have checked , fuel lines/pump/fuel filter etc. but unable to find any problems, "well as far as I can see anyway".
Have driven around block a few times and seems to be running fine [famous last words]
Can anyone out there, "HELP" with advice or any clue what the problem may be,
I've done everything that I think needs doing.

Checked your fuel filters?

Just an idea, have you tried taking off the fuel filler cap when the problem starts. If you get a rush of air it means you are getting a vacuum in the tank which in turn could stop the fuel pump pulling fuel to the engine. Worth a try and doesn't cost anything. I had that problem and drilled a very small hole in the cap.

It sounds like a fuel filter issue. Is this a carb model or an injection model? if its injection then don't go drilling holes in the fuel cap, the system is vented via the charcoal canister. What year is it? 8V or 16V?
