So today has had it's ups and downs, first thing, my wife's grand vitara of 5years has gone to be part exchanged,

it was a shame as it was such a nice car, although, we never drove it off road - it was the family hack, and it's fuel consumption was dire (2litre petrol) also my mrs was wanting to have a bigger car for an expanding family, so in its place we now have a citreon c4 grand Picasso, 1.6 diesel with 7 seats, not really my cup of tea, but my wife likes it!

(I think it's ugly!)

Then this afternoon, I went to the local garage to have a chat about welding, he's, going to call around to mine next week to have a look and see what he can do, for me the biggest issue is the drivers side will by the rear wheel

I'll let you know what he says! So sad to see the GV go but happy that things are moving on the SJ front

shame you aren't closer to me. i could weld that up for over half what a garage is going to charge.

I know, I feel the same, but there is no way I could get it down to you, especially with no MOT, I don't mind paying as long as I can start driving it again!

Thanks for the offer Jordi, I really appreciate it but I wouldn't want to put on you, I don't mind paying for the garage to do the welding, I just want it back on the road now,

A neighbour has one of those, cough, splutter Citroens and it spends half it's life in the garage being repaired. And it's brand new. Hope you have better luck.

Yeah at the moment, the mrs is giving me puppy dog eyes and dropping hints about another, but we will see! To be honest I don't know why she wanted 7 seats but she did (I've got a feeling it's do she can give her mum lifts when we are all in) I hope it's going to be a practical run about and I hope it will last say 10 years or so, I think she would like me to get a newer car too, but at the moment my mk2 clio is giving me a solid 68mpg and I only use it for work, I'd rather spend the cash on getting my SJ sorted.
