don't think you can privacy and all that, best you could do is put an ad out somewhere askin, think there is a website for people trying to trace whereabouts of there old vehicles might be of help if you can find it

You could try contacting its last owner (if you can't remember should be on v5) and ask them if they know who had it before or at least the area it was bought from then try sticking an ad in the local rag of that area you never know

When I bought my reliant scimitar the last owner gave me paperwork with the names and addresses of all of the previous owners, (11 of them I think?)

I think he sourced the information from the dvla. I remember he said he had to pay for it though.

If the DVLA is giving out that kind of information, they're performing a massive breach of the data protection act.

I have no idea if they're somehow exempt, but in my opinion they certainly shouldn't be! Even the Police need a court order to get information of a personal nature normally, so the DVLA selling it to the public seems suspect at best!

what your saying sounds right but I definitely have that paperwork.

I will have a look at it and let you know who it was provided by.

maybe its something they used to do and don't do anymore?
