1.6 intake manifold

Post by The Bird Man » Tue Oct 21, 2014 12:32 pm

After some advice and pics. Has anyone that has done the 1.6 8 v conversion and stuck either a Weber or an SU carb on it got any pictures of the intake manifold showing what pipes need to be blocked off. I was talking to this chap that used to off road with SJ's and said the only time he had running issues was to do with the engine breathing. Still not managed to get mine running and just making sure all pipes are where they should be. Many thanks, Eddie :) I've attached a rather crude diagram of what mine looks like. The arrows are pointing to lose pipes, not sure if they need to be connected to anything, they were cut when I received it.

The top one is pcv valve which connects to the breather on the rocker and the air box.
The two plastic ones on the left I never used even with a standard carb.
Cant remember the others
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

Blank everything apart from PCV valve and brake servo connections for SU.
