Hello, great site so i thought i would join and say hello :doublethumbs:

got an sj 4 years ago, from what i gather (i think) its a sj410 santana with 413 engine, gearbox and transfer box.
was the usual rust heap going for a few £££, i spent the first year welding it up and painting parts, spent the second year putting it back together and in the 3rd year when i thought it was finished and tried to start it the engine was very rough and smoking badly. Lost interest as my pals had moved on from offroading and the engine annoyed me so it sat for over a year until my pals decided ice hockey wasn't for them and bought offroaders again
went off roading in pals jeeps with the local club a few months back and the following day i thought i'd have a look at my sj and been hooked again ever since :salute:

what i've done,
A lot of welding
1.6 8v vitara with SU carb
3" springs (i think, it was a while ago from Llama)
stripped seats down and put in washing machine :screwy:
new or second hand mostly everything, calipers, drums, servo, radiator
made wiring loom
cut dash right down, fitted loom to rear of dash so whole lot comes out easily
moved petrol tank in rear

i just need to sort timing and fuel mix and it should be good to go, also still to get wheels and tires (thinking 8 x 15 modular and 31" insa turbo special tracks)
and i thought it would be finished until i spent 4 hours on here last night reading a 90 odd page build thread 8-)

now at some point i want some beefed up samurai axles, 35" tires and a rockwatt transfer box.
My pals run disco's and a lot of the club run spaceframe comp trucks, just last week i thought about binning the suzuki and building something else until i found some of the build threads on here.

Never have much input in forums (usually subaru but losing interest in that just now) but i do enjoy spending most nights "lurking" so i don't expect a huge post count lol, will need your great advise when buying parts though (must have bought every variant of rear drums till something fitted :hahaha: )

Few pics,
when i got it

unfortunately the jeeps not going to look that great when finished. i started welding from the inside out, by the time i got to the body and arches i had decided it was going to be trailered and i just wanted it finished so rushed the welding which caused a lot of warping.
think i need another body, maybe a tin top and spend more time making it nicer

Nice Zuk! I wouldn't worry too much about the warped body, we've all got bashed and bent Zuks in here, apart from one or two shiney Zuks like Ektoz's...

You wont even notice the warping once you take it off road a few times and add a few scrapes and dents
