4 wheel drive light not illuminating

Hello..
I'm hoping someone can help.
I've recently taken my 03 grand vitara into a garage to have a new front o/s lower control arm fitted. Apparently they had a bit of a nightmare doing it for some reason and after a few sarky remarks about it being rotten underneath (it's not..) I came home.
This morning for some reason I had the urge to select the 4L and 4H on my vitara just as a make sure everything was working after it had been fixed and I have no light illuminating on the dash. I can hear the small relay (I assume) switching but have as yet been unable to poke my head out and see if i can hear the pump working.
Is it likely that a pipe has been knocked off the pump when the lower control arm has been done? Is there a common fix to this fault. I'd rather not take it back to the garage. Once burnt and all that, plus I'm trying to get to learn my way around my vitara as it's my first 4x4.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Regards
Dougie
