Hi, I'm new to gv ownership 12 days only, I replaced the reverse light switch today and while underneath a small rubber top hat shaped thing dropped on me off the top of the box, it had a hole in one end which had gearbox oil in, I can't find where it came from any ideas? Don't want to drive too far scared all the oils gonna leak everywhere, help please, Neil

It wouldn't be a rubber grommet from the end of the wire would it?

No I don't think so, it looked like a cap of some sort, defiantly had gearbox oil in it tho

Welcome to the club
It took me a while to find photo but I believe it's probably this bugger.
Stupid design, should have a proper screw plug
Needs to be silicone sealed back in, will need to be clean, so that's easier said than done
From what I could find if anybody needs one it's part number 09250-10006.
The earlier vitara models have one on either side, parts diagrams show this as the same part number.
