Workshop manual

Hi,
This is the first time I have posted a question. If I have made any blunders please forgive and advise me of my mistake.
I am looking for a suitable workshop manual for a March 1999 (T reg) 3 door hard top Vitara J4U 1.6 Petrol.
(Stamped in engine "Santana Motors)
Haynes tell me they did not do one for this model. I wonder what members who have the same model use?
I could supply picture if needed.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Regards,
MWØPAD.

Most of the information for the 4U is in the original service manual, the 4U specific stuff is in the supplement for immobiliser models.
The FSMs can be downloaded here;

Hi Rhinoman,
Thank you for taking the trouble to reply.
I have visited the site you suggest, but my particular model does not seem to be represented.
I am trying to find out how to upload a picture to my profile but with no success.
Best regards,
MWØPAD

Suzuki published one FSM for the Vitara which was 99500-60A10 and then a whole bunch of supplementary manuals, there aren't separate manuals for each model. I have the 4u2 which is mechanically and electrically the same as your model, what is it you are trying to do?

There are several jobs I wish to do. The two most urgent are:-
!... The wafer thin panel which fits directly behind the rear bumper and holds the two bottom fog lamps has virtually disintegrated. I was hoping to use the body section of the manmual to see what it looks like and how it is fastened to the car.
2......There is an annoying "Heavy Clunk" whenever the rear wheels go over even the slightest bump. At first I though the exhaust was hitting the chassis, but this has been checked a couple of times at different garages and this is not the case. I would like to view the relevant section of the manual to see what else on the suspension needs some attention.
Apart from these two items, fortunately my Vitara needs no other attention!
PS Have you any idea how I insert a picture of my car as you have done?

Hit user control panel, top right,
Then profile under options on the left

The rear suspension is the same on all the 1.6 SWB models so 99500-60A10 is the FSM for that. I don't know which manual the panel behind the rear bumper would be in.

Hi,
Thank you very much for the info. I like the snowy picture of your Suzuki!
