the one ive got is moving far to slow to even move the engine, ive got the starter off the 1ltr but will it fit in the 1.3? test this motor and its turning like a gooden.

Didn't I send a starter with the engine? If it's that one, then it was fine before.
As I think you have rebuilt the engine, is the torque for turning the engine over correct, or is it a bit tight?
I've just had a quick look in the manual, but I can't find a figure for turning the engine over.
Does it turn the engine with no plugs in?

think it has died of death the starter you sent, ive had it on the bench and it spins up, just really slowly compared to the 1.0 ltr one next to it its like 1/8th the power.
i can turn the engine by hand with a socket no problem.
cheers

No 1L starters won't fit a 1.3, the flywheel spacing from the bellhousing is different

sure you are testing it right? if you just activate it by the small connector then it will spin really slowly...
you have to power the small connector and the big wire connector at the same time

pretty sure i am but maybe not, ive got the starter earthed with a jump lead, then positive jump lead from the positive to the positive on the starter, then im bridging the positive jump lead to the small spade connector.
