My arches, door trims and bumpers are in a bad state, lots of chips and scratches all over them and the bumpers have been resprayed badly with the wrong colour
So I need to know how to remove the arch covers and trims, I will probably spray the bumper on the car, but the rest need removing so I can clean any surface rust behind them before it gets any worse, then I can spray them pieces in my cellar..
Arches seem to unclip at the bottom and I guess they lift up, but not sure on the door trims...
Any help is hugely appreciated...

Re: Grand vitara arch cover removal??
I have a feeling the door trims are glued on?? I can't remember as it was a while ago that I stripped my old GV......some careful masking will save you removing them.
Re: Grand vitara arch cover removal??
I think I can slide a piece of masking paper behind them, hopefully there is no rust behind them, I can see a little bit behind the arch covers that will get cleaned off and painted when I do the trims
Do you know where I can get the joining strip stuff that goes between the trim and the door? One piece seems to have shrunk and is now sticking out...

Re: Grand vitara arch cover removal??
You will probably find some on a UPVC poor/window spares website.
They have loads of rubber trimmings like that. I got some to sort my front door at home as it was a bit draughty last winter.

Re: Grand vitara arch cover removal??
It does look very similar to the rubber that holds the glass in my windows in the house
Will keep searching and see if I can find some
If the panels on the doors are glued on I'll probably just use some sealant and mask it and prime it, should do the job, about to order nearly £100 worth of stuff to do it all so hopefully it'll look sweet when it's finished...
Thanks for your help guys...
