2002 gv front subframe

All tech relating to the Suzuki Vitara that won't relate to any other models, Front IFS etc.

hi has anyone out there removed the front sub frame from their GV. Mines rotten and not easily repaired on the vehicle. wondering how much unbolting of the lower suspension has to be done etc. any help before I go knuckle bashing would be appreciated

Well after a bit of a searching on the internet. Found the some horrific stories of peoples front cross members failing with sudden lurches to the left or right. Then found the Canadian Suzuki recall notice the method of checking the condition and if its beyond help how to remove and replace. Spot on info,
One lower front bush bolt was a little stuck, heat, lump hammer and a little perseverance saw it give up its hold.

Now its off the car, its a good old colander and scrap its not worth repairing. Found one from scrappy now on its way.

This looks like a corrosion failure issue on the Gv especially if Suzuki were recalling them because of poor corrosion treatment :salute:
