What we have here is an'85 410 with a later 413/5-speed fitted. I think what I may have here is the Jap servo that sticks further forward...?? Sure I have read about this here before, should have thought before getting this far:
No way the 44 will fit there and also need clearance on intake side for air in - not a chance.
Do I need to swap the servo for the shorter one - i did this swap on my '921 Sami and there was planty of room.

Also there's a mounting plate off off-side inner wing comes out - was that for the old 410 air intake cos that is in the way too.

Advice and bits please: urgent (with different servo do I need to change brake pedal/lever too as it must be different into the actual servo?)

Yes, I think you need the shorter brake booster like mine, although I *think* you can shorten the long one somehow...?

I think I read about someone doing that.

I'm sure that's it Anton - my Sami must have had the shorter one as there was plenty of clearance. I'll go part hunting.
So you have a 1.3 in a 410 shell? Ineed to find out more about where the 1.3 should sit - mine is aligned along axis front-to-back fine, bnut seems tilted, anti-clocked when looking from front. The cooling fan is off-centre to right (driver side). Andy had a quick look and thought it was odd.

can you post pics of how your engine sits please? the engine should sit around this angle and height.

The servo from a spanish model samurai doesn't have the big spacer and gives plenty of clearance.
If you can find one cheap enough I would just put one of those on

Nope, I have a 1.3 in a 413 shell, but since the major parts (chassis, transmission tunnel etc) are the same, then a "proper" install of a 1.3 into a 410 should look like a factory 1.3 install in a 413, I'd have thought. The reason I said "it should look like mine" is I have a rockwatt intake manifold too...

Scottie's thread will have pics on what he did and how it looked, before he swapped in the 1.6 (unless my memory is wrong and he didn't go to a 1.3 and then the 1.6).

I can take more pics of the engine bay tomorrow when there's some sunlight, if you want something to compare with?

Jap- girling chunky servo. Cast ally master
Spanish - lucas servo lsc-50 (large on an extension)
Lucas lsc-38 (smaller and mounted directly to bulkhead)

From what ive seen its lsc38s from around k reg onwards.

Iv got a servo that's mounted to bulkhead. Still all intact connected to pedal etc. On a samurai I'm breaking.

OK, first the current servo:
Sticks forward a long way - due to the engine swap this may be from a later SJ anyway. But I need the shorter stem type I reckon. I'll be in touch d-r.

Now the motor - thanks for the pic Scottie - apart from how bloody clean it all is... . I don't think I'm a mile out from seeing that. Lighting crap, sorry, but here is top view:
On mine - The right hand (when standing in front) edge of cam cover is vertical (close as) - I'd say yours Scottie is clocked a bit, I mean when viewed from front. What puzzled me was when I changed rad (first job) and noticed cooling fan was off-line by a way, offset to left, so cowl no use etc. I need to learn more of the basics here - are the engine mounts on the 410 chassis different to a 413 and if so in what ways? Does this actually matter? When Andy and I did clutch, the gearbox aligns to its rear chassis mount bang-on, if I rotated the engine clockwise that alignment would go out??

I want to understand this and then get it right, but priority is sort the servo so carb can go in so SJ can drive so I can move house... in that order and quick
