Have you checked that your thermostat is opening at the correct temp?

It could have just been another airlock. I always make sure the system in bled properly after a refill, heaters on hot, rad cap off and run it up to temp.

is ALL of the rad getting hot?? I had an overheating prob on an old Frontera my mum had. When the temp shot up some of the rad was still luke warm and other bits were like lava! U could have some crap blocking the cores in the rad, it should be roasting hot all over.

So is the heater valve still on the bulkhead (next to the brake master cylinder) and plumbed up?

Maybe a few pictures of all the coolant plumbing will help us if you could get some and post them up.
