SJ + sailing = Fun!
SJ + sailing = Fun!
One of the reasons I bought the SJ was so I can tow my sailing dinghy across the beach. Well i picked my boat up today and tomorrow I will be making a 90 mile trip to west wales
Not looking forward to towing all that way with the sj but hopefully we get some good weather over the weekend so I can do a bit of sailing and also test the sj out on the sand
And My uncles defender I have used before to tow across the beach.

It's just what your SJ was designed for
Are those Defender flares on yours?

Yes defender flares, you can't see from the photos but they need tidying up and spraying properly.

It looks great with a trailer, how does it tow?
Re: SJ + sailing = Fun!
It tows just fine, until you get to a hill I actually had to get into 2nd on one hill! On the motorway, always having to change down to 4th at the slightest incling gets tiresome, but I loved every minuteTramp wrote:It looks great with a trailer, how does it tow?

Should tow easy enough... I towed this beast of a trailer all the way across Europe so a small boat should be no problem

Twiss, my sj413 is fine on the flat but terrible on hills, even without a trailer, going down the motorway at 50mph, even the slightest incline and I will have to change down to 4th!
She has 28" mud terrain tyres, I though this might have been the reason but maybe she could be low on power? I know they don't have much power to start with!
