My pride and joy, broken into this morning and taken from driveway at 6:00am
Reported stolen at 7:00am, found! 100yds away in neighbours driveway? (rural area) at 8:00am.

Wrecked glove box lid, grab rail, ignition switch and plastic surround.

Only thing missing, a brand new yellow AA expanding tow rope (£15).

Police SOCO just left, mystified as to exact motif, maybe got cold feet driving a rare van?
Gloves job and no manpower to investigate further, given crime number, case closed.

No body work/engine damage, so could've been worse I guess.

Fully comp, but with £350 excess and a claim surcharge of 35% at renewal time, looks like I'll have to swallow this.

Glove box lid I can get new (aftermarket cheapie) from India for a few quid, ditto ignition set inc. doors.

Anyone got a very good condition grab rail to sell please?

Man what a nightmare! sorry to hear dude :pissed:

I might have a spare steering column surround but don't think i have a grab bar, they are pretty awkward to change as well I think.

If you are on facebook find Daniel Slam Hands Stephens, he has loads of parts for SJs

That is such a clean little car. Hope you can get it back to how it was.

Give Leigh Catherick a call on 01227 720852 during the evenings. I'm sure he has all the parts you'll need

Arseholes.

Sadly old cars are a good target now. Get yourself a disklock for the steering wheel. They are a fairly large deterent. I have on on the carlton now and will be getting one for the sami.

Its a chore but pop the king lead of most nights or when parked in unknown areas.

Its the same as the gypsy dash so I might be able to get both those parts (the handle and the column cover) here.
Will ask my guy if you want

There are some real arseholes out there. Thankfully the damage looks minimal, hope you get her all sorted quickly.

I'm gutted for you, I'm really sorry, there are some serious bell ends out there. I can remember the sinking feeling I got when some one tried to steal my Suzuki, ruined my ignition and door lock. Things are never the same again. Unfortunatly although SJ's aren't worth much they seem to be a popular target for thieves, it doesn't help that SJ's from the factory don't have much in the way of security. I hope you manage to sort things.

That sucks.
Lucky you got it back in one piece. A guy I know got his van burnt out because the thieves were too stupid to even get the thing going.
Hope you get it fixed
