I managed to win this 'as new' 2000lb tiddler off eBay on Friday for just £16

New, they run £55-£65, search 'boat' winch and you've better chance of picking up a bargain.

Much bigger and more heavy duty than it looks in the pics, works great and it's portable!

Easy to adapt for front end use as well with shackles etc.

Will buy a cheap snatch block to double up to 4000lb's, should be OK for very light on the flat recovery, muddy fields etc.
I'll leave ditches and bogs to the big boys n' toys

Nothing wrong with a little winch. My Vit has a 3.5 mounted at the rear just in case a bit of help is ever needed!

I have 2 to go on the LJ....one day lol.

Small winches aren't too bad for a stock truck... I think the optional winch from Suzuki was only 3,500lb...
Problem is when you end up with lift and muds and the truck is more capable, you are more stuck by the time you need a winch so need a bigger one
