Suzuki Vitara engine identifying

Hi everyone, I am new in this forum
My old Suzuki Jimny is gone because of badly rust on chassis that failed the MOT. Repair cost was more than what the motor is worth.
Now I want to buy a same Suzuki but different type is Vitara the year is between 2001 - 2004 a diesel engine from Peugeot because of more economical than the Mazda engine. The last few weeks, I have been looking for a used car with Peugeot engine I am struggle to spot the different on the engine, I have not got a clue what to look for? how do I know the different between Peugeot and Mazda engine? what about the engine code and where to find it???
