Ignition beep

Post by TyZuk » Sun Feb 12, 2017 3:46 pm

My 2001 Jimny has recently started to do this thing where when I put the key in the ignition it makes a beeping sound, similar to the sound cars make when you leave your headlights on when the engine is off.
This only happens with the key in with no click and 1 click, once the ignition and the engine is on it stops. If anyone could let me know why this may be or if you have had a similar thing happen it'd be great to know. Cheers.

Think it has one of those systems where it beeps to let you know you have left the key in the ignition. Occasionally mine will beep with the door open and the key in. So don't think it's to much of a problem

Mine does it cause the door switch is faulty, keeps beeping and the interior light flashes on and off randomly... or it's a ghost.

Ha! I found the original Suzuki paperwork, and within a couple months she took it back to get the switch sorted on Guarantee, same as the soft top clips!

Haha, I leave my lights on all the time now, because the beeper has stopped working!

Saying that, everything is slowly stopping working, I really need to drop the new engine in!

It hasn't beeped on mine for long enough not to bother with, if I starts again I will start hunting again
